Management Group (SPM) is the power systems division of Microchip
Technology and a leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of
high-performance modules and systems in Power Management. Microchip
takes the approach of providing complete sub-system level power
solutions for our customers. Our primary market is in Space Systems
and other high reliability mission critical applications. We see

work right the first time.We have a permanent Production Specialist
(Magnetic Assembler) opening at our Garden Grove, California
facility. The Production Specialist (Magnetic Assembler) will be
working first shift (5:30 a.m. - 2:00 pm) and will report to the
Production Control - Operation Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESUnder minimum supervision, determines the methods
and sequence of operations required to assemble, modify, and repair
power suppliesPerforms all tasks and functions associated with the
assembly of magneticsInterfaces with the Engineering Department for
the assembly of prototype power supplyInterprets blueprints,
sketches, and works from verbal instructions for new magnetic
designsMaintains records and paperwork associated with
manufacturingReads work orders, follows production routes/drawings
instructions, parts list, wire list, diagrams and wire and install
a wide variety of components, and receives verbal instructions
regarding duties to be performedWind magnetics using wire gauges
from AWG-48 thru AWG-7, including numerous sizes of copper
strappingUsing various mechanical winding machines and sizes of
wire, wind bobbins for use in C-core and Ferrite magneticsUsing
various mechanical winding machines, shuttles, hand winding
techniques, and sizes of wire to manufacture Toroidal magneticsCut
and shape insulation materials while following instructions for the
use in bobbins, multi winding insulation, and the gapping of
cores.Using insulation, stripping techniques, including manual and
machine, strips insulation from wires in accordance with
instructional materialsUsing inductance measurement equipment,
measures and records inductance and winding information as
required.May perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting,
encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping,
etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assembliesAdjusts
or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical
or dimensional characteristicsWill be required to participate in
the Hazard Communication Program provided by the companyObtains
needed training requirements such as ESD Training, Soldering
Training, OJT on specific inspection procedures, material handling,
J-STD-001 certification and moreMay be asked to perform other
duties not outlined in this description
Requirements/Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma; GED
equivalent or equivalent years of relevant experienceMust have a
minimum of 4 years' experience in soldering electronic assemblies
and a minimum of 4 years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing
environmentMust have at least four 4 years' experience in
assembling electronic magneticsMust be able to interpret
blueprints, specifications, work instructions for magnetic
designMust have strong written and oral communication skills.
Reading blueprints, written instructions, process/procedures, and
other instructionsMust have the ability to understand and execute
verbal and written instructionsMust be able to add, subtract,
multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions and decimals using manual or electronic calculator
methods, measuring length, turns and size.Must have working
knowledge of using bobbing-winder and spindle-winding machines, to
use wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screw drivers, pliers,
rulers and a microscope.Must be able to solder components and
having working knowledge of J-STD-001FS NASA standardCertification
in J-STD-001FS NASA standard preferred Certifications in ESD
training, solder training and staking / bonding training is
preferredMust be able to pass general vision test requirements
outlined by NASA standardsMust be able to lift 10lbsITAR
