Family owned and operated since 1994, Pacific Athletic Wear (PAW) is a vertically integrated CMT apparel contractor. Our primary focus is manufacturing high end on-field/on-court athletic uniforms, with emphasis on baseball, basketball, and football. Our production processes utilize more technical construction methods such as engineered printing, laser perforation, and no-sew construction.PAW is seeking an on-site Production Manager for our Garden Grove facility. The 76,000 sq. ft. facility is comprised of pre-production, graphics, pattern making, cutting, laser cutting, dye sublimation, sewing, embroidery, heat press, and screenprinting departments, all under one roof. PAW currently operates with less than 100 employees.The Production Manager's essential responsibility isensuring on-time, profitable, and high-quality production beginning with pre-production and carrying through to finishing. The responsibilities are fulfilled through data driven decision making, team leadership, and evaluation/refinement of process.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Set production schedule and accurately estimate completion dates for future orders based on required minutes, current capacity, current schedule, and contingent factors such as raw materials.Monitor WIP, set output targets by department, and report on actual output versus targeted output. Develop action plans to remedy low output, such as hiring additional labor, transferring workers to different departments, running overtime, implementing new technology/equipment to gain efficiency, etc.Validate costing estimates by collecting and analyzing actual production minutes. Determine profitability on projects and recommend price increases/decreases based on findings.Learn to utilize existing PAW pricing models in order to provide price quotes for prospective projects.Check in daily with production department managers, gathering information about current challenges and needs. Work to resolve matters and make production departments successful, performing such duties as developing new protocols, holding snap team meetings, and assigning new responsibilities/tasks to subordinates.Oversee the resolution of quality issues. Determine whether a style must be pulled from production and fixed or remade. Supervise team members involved in the remediation process.Ensure departments adhere to production processes and SOPs.Identify areas that can become more efficient. Implement changes to the production process and ensure that the changes are followed through. Revise existing SOPs or develop new ones.Participate in the development of production sequences.Convene and run weekly production meetingsParticipate in the development of shrink remediation strategiesEnsure adequate documentation is present in tech packsEnsure raw materials have been adequately prepared. Be aware of materials shortages and how that affects the production scheduleMaintain significant physical presence on the factory floor, observing and advising on the day to day workings of each department.Required Experience and SkillsProficient Spanish speakerMinimum 2-3 years working in upper level management at a garment factoryAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup tables.
