The role is accountable to load parts in the machine, cycle the machine and detect malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools.The CNC Machinist - Lathes utilizes hand tools to deburr, de-gate, or polish and package all production in accordance with the router steps and stamps off operations before moving to the next operation. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment.Shift Hours: 2nd Shift (Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm)Pay: $18/hr to $24/hr plus $1/hr shift differentialRequirementsRead blueprint drawings, job orders, tooling instructions or standard charts to determine specification procedures.Program (G Code), set up and run various machine tools on a conventional and CNC lathe, and punch press machine.Load and indicate part to fixture and secure the workpiece in the holding device.Use appropriate measuring equipment (such as micrometers, Vernier, height gauges, bore gauges etc.) to ensure that all components produced meet customer specifications.Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, without rejection, in a fast-paced work environment.Meet ongoing production quotas while working within very close tolerances in a machine-shop production environment.Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost, and delivery.Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.Follow Saint-Gobain principles of conduct and action, and exemplify the Saint-Gobain Attitudes.HS Diploma or GED certificateMinimum 3 years previous work experience as a CNC Machinist with understanding of CNC lathe machines.Ability to read, understand and follow written materials including blueprint drawings, job orders, etc.Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance, and flexibility to work overtime as needed.Manual dexterity is required to operate machinery and program equipment.Good vision to read written materials and to measure instruments.Ability to lift up to 30 poundsAdditional RequirementsCertain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The local pay range for this position is $18 to $24 per hour plus 2nd shift differential of $1 /hr. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location/geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate and Bonus, Annualized (40 hrs/week 52wks) for this position, is $43,400 to $57,200.
