what they do.Job SummaryThe Black Belt LEAN Specialist is a "High
Caliber" data driven problem solver, specializing in solving
complex issues. The Black Belt LEAN Specialist will lead major
breakthrough initiatives to successful completion and with
that, captures significant growth opportunities in the
organization. Additionally, the Black Belt LEAN Specialist plays a
key role in developing problem solving capabilities, by training
and coaching Green Belt LEAN
Specialist, and problem solvers using the "8 Step A3" approach and
DMAIC where appropriate. The Black Belt LEAN Specialist is a change
agent and role model for leading change and Lean transformation.Job
Responsibilities
- Role modeling a culture that is aligned to the GKN Aerospace
"Great Place to Work" value drivers and
- Exemplifying a safety-first mindset and ensuring that the GKN
Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards
are applied across GKN Aerospace and that all locations are a model
of a world class healthy and safe working environment
- Driving the disciplined and rigorous execution of complex data
driven problem solving (Black Belt projects as well as Kaizen
Events) as part of the LEAN Excellence Model deployment across
their assigned area of responsibility
- Coaching their assigned area's Leadership team in their
deployment of the Lean Excellence Model especially by supporting
the prioritization of complex issues requiring resolution and
assigning methods of approach as part of the Kaizen Event Planning
Process
- Displaying exemplary Lean Leadership behavior
- Training & coaching Green Belts to certification
completion
- The delegated owner (from the Site Lean Deployment Leader) of
the Six Sigma DMAIC program for the site, including both capability
building and sustainment, as well as rigorous DMAIC application and
execution
- Delivering significant improvement in People, Safety, Quality,
Delivery, Cash and Cost (PSQDCC) targets, meeting their assigned
area's customer and stakeholder commitments, driven by execution of
complex data driven problem solving
- Developing DMAIC Expertise across their assigned area, ensuring
that they become self-sufficient in problem solving, working with
the SLDL and fellow LDLs and GBs/BBs to ensure that all staff are
fully certified in problem solving at the appropriate level for
their role
- Complying with all legal and regulatory requirements and
ensuring that staff are aware of the policies and their individual
responsibilities and accountabilities:

-Job Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in a Engineering and/or Technical Field
- 10 years of professional LEAN experience in manufacturing with
extensive working knowledge of Six Sigma Six Sigma Black Belt
Certification
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export
compliance and site SSA requirementsPreferred Qualifications:
- A passion for the Aerospace industry
- Highly enthusiastic for the change to a Lean Thinking
organization
- Effective communicator, building effective teams
- Excellent Project Management skills, able to navigate through
complex project stakeholder situations
- An understanding of Lean Thinking and Lean Leadership
- The demonstrated ability to influence at the Site Management,
Group Leader and Team Leader level, as
- well as the enabling functions
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor team membersDiversity
