Works Space Division is seeking a Lead Space System Engineer (Level
4) to provide support to the Resilient Space Technologies Group. --
The Resilient Space Technologies Group is part of Boeing Phantom
Works which creates differentiated capabilities and services by
relentlessly pursuing innovation in design, thinking and execution.
-- We work with proprietary customers in the development of the
next-generation technologies in space. -- Phantom Works focuses on
rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of mission-focused
technologies for a variety of customers. -- Our group works all
facets of engineering from technology investment, concept
development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build,
integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant
environments.This position will develop classified space system
architectures in compliance with our customers------ requirements
and mission needs. -- From these architectures, this role will
develop top level performance specifications and perform trades in
a variety of areas. This position will develop and flow
requirements to system and units and will perform the verification
and validation prior to delivery. -- Phantom Works Space customers
tend to provide need statements rather than requirements and this
position must be capable of working with this ambiguity. -- Phantom
Works needs candidates that are flexible in their roles and able to
stretch beyond them due to security billet limitations and small
size of teams we deploy. -- This position is located primarily in
El Segundo, CA.Primary Responsibilities:
- Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan,
design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of
systems and system solutions.
- Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate
system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and
assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program
- Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems
and/or system architecture.
- Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability,
maintainability, testability, --survivability, vulnerability,
susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product
assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred
configuration to ensure mission success.
- Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the
planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of
requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity
management and technology readiness assessment processes.
- Resolves cross-functional technical issues.This position
requires an active U.S. Security Clearance with a SSBI (Single
Scope Background Investigation), for which the U.S Government
requires U.S. Citizenship. -- -- A U.S. Security Clearance that has
been active in the past 24 months is considered active.Basic
Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Experience with --developing space architectures.
- Experience with the --system engineering ------V------ from
flowing requirements to the lowest level and performing the
verification and validation of these requirements.
- Experience working with requirements and/or functional
- Experience in Model Based System Engineers tools and
techniques.Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and
- Ability to work beyond the system engineering role.
- Ability to work with ambiguous customer needs and
requirements.Typical Education and Experience:Education/experience
typically acquired through advanced technical education from an
accredited course of study in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9
or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination
of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related
work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the
USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard.Boeing --is a Drug Free Workplace where post
