The Law Offices of Sylvia V. Gonzalez, APC is currently looking for a qualified and experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join our team in La Palma, CA. The ideal candidate should have a Juris Doctor (JD) and a valid law license for the state of California. At least three years of Personal Injury experience as an attorney is required, and they should possess knowledgeable comprehension of court processes. Communication with clients and colleagues in a professional manner is a must. It is also important that you are able to work independently with minimal supervision.

This is a full-time position and we are looking for an attorney who wants to work with our firm long-term.

Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be able to handle litigation cases from preparing and filing the initial Summons and complaints through trial.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
--- Settlement negotiations (litigation and pre-litigation)
--- Depositions (taking and defending)
--- Deposition preparation
--- Petition for Minors Compromise
--- Subpoenas
--- Written discovery
--- Motions and oppositions
--- Mediation briefs
--- Demand letters
--- Mediation
--- Trial preparation
--- Sitting first and second chair at trial

We are looking for someone who is empathetic, motivated, organized, responsible, and a good communicator with a great attitude.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
--- California Bar License; in good standing
--- Ability to work in-person Monday thru Friday (however, a flexible schedule is available and open to discussion)
--- At least three years of experience in personal injury (preferred)
--- Trial experience (required)
--- Ability to start work immediately
--- Ability to work a file from start to finish independently with minimal supervision
--- Experience taking and defending depositions
--- Strong negotiation skills
--- Experience handling mediation and settlement negotiations
--- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
--- Willingness to fight for injured clients and dedication to helping injured clients seek compensation
--- Ability to develop personal relationships with clients

Please note the following:
--- Spanish fluency is a plus but not required
--- Pay is the annual salary that commensurates with experience
