Description The Intern, Data Analyst (Operational Excellence) partners with the Operational Excellence team to transform complex, unstructured business data into actionable insights. The intern will design and deliver one to two Power BI dashboards that visualize key operational metrics, taking data from varied sources and structuring it for meaningful analysis and decision-making. We're thrilled to provide a 10-week paid internship at our facility in Tustin, CA . As an intern, you'll dive deep into our team culture, take on significant projects, and play a vital role in our team's dynamics. This temporary, 40-hour per week office position is designed to offer you a wealth of experience and the chance to connect with professionals in the industry. Key Responsibilities: Work with the Operational Excellence team to define key performance metrics. Ingest, clean, and structure data from multiple, often unstructured sources. Design data models to support reliable analysis and visualization. Develop and refine Power BI dashboards based on stakeholder feedback. Document data sources, transformations, and assumptions. Primary Project Focus: Definition of operational metrics and reporting requirements Data preparation and structuring from disparate inputs Development of 1–2 Power BI dashboards Delivery of visual insights to support continuous improvement Preferred Qualifications: Ability to learn tools such as Power BI, SQL, Excel, MS Lists, Smartsheet Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to meet deadlines Interest in analytics and data science Ability to handle confidential information appropriately Availability to work full-time for the duration of the internship at our Tustin, CA facility. Authorization to work in the country where the internship is located. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This role is a full-time position operating Monday through Friday, 5x8 (5 days x 8 hours) schedule. Starting Monday, June 15 th through Friday, August 21 st . What to Expect as an Avid Bio Intern: Summer Project: Personalized project plan, complete with a pre-determined roadmap and week by week milestones that the intern will need to meet, ensuring clear expectations and measurable outcomes. Mentorship: Your manager and team will provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities. Weekly Check-ins and 1:1s: Conduct both on a weekly basis to ensure clear communication and support for our interns. Performance Assessments: Conduct mid and end of program performance assessments to be provided with constructive criticism and feedback to help you grow and succeed.
