Job Summary The Head of Technology - Transparencies & Coatings is primarily responsible for ensuring that the roadmap as defined by the Technology Cluster is aligned with the overall business product strategy for the representative business lines. It is a responsibility for process and outcome and will require an interfacing relationship between all Head of Technology and Product Group Directors.

• Strategic positioning of the technology investment to ensure alignment with the product strategy via the PGD's and TD's
• Process ownership and delivery of the Portfolio Management process and tool in conjunction with the commercial excellence model and integrated business model - aligning the technology investment with market opportunity
• TRA Assessment
  • TRL 4/5 Panel member - all reviews. Chair as required
  • TRL 1-6 panel member as required
  • New concept development programs - alignment with the US GTC
    • Primary stakeholder/Champion
    • Technical steering role
    • PRM Assessment
      • Panel member
      • Leadership role in the New Concept Development programmes, supporting the project managers
      • Heads of Technology H1 & H2 - Interfacing role, supporting and coordinating the commercial triangle, via the PGD's
      • Definition and execution of the cost modelling process for effective technology trades. Requirements
        • Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Materials Engineering
        • Must be proficient with Optical Metrology or related field (e.g. Polymers)
        • 1 year Direct experience of the Aerospace certification process for new product introduction
        • Must be able to travel nationally and internaioanlly
        • U.S. persons with ability to obtain a Department of Defense Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications
          • In depth subject matter technical knowledge
          • Experienced understanding of the TRL maturity process
          • Demonstrated multi-national and geographical leadership abilities
          • A proven track record in the delivery of multi-disciplined R&T Engineering Programs
          • Ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels up to Board level.
          • Ability to operate with external governing bodies
          • Ability to constructively challenge at all levels and influence and shape the business.
          • Previous experience in acting as the engineering interface with customers both internal and external
          • Demonstrated leadership experience across multi-disciplined Engineers teams and as part of an engineering leadership team.
