In-person, LA Office SCHEDULE: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM, 5 days per week
typically Monday through Friday. One Saturday per month is required
for clinic support. Additional Saturdays may be scheduled as needed
to accommodate surgical aftercare. The schedule will be coordinated
in advance with the Clinical Manager, and hours may be adjusted
based on patient aftercare or other clinical needs. The nurse is
expected to work closely with the Clinical Manager to preschedule
shifts in alignment with patient appointments and overall clinical
priorities. SCOPE OF POSITION Join our dedicated team as a
Perioperative Nurse, playing a vital role in our Surgical
Department's success. As a Perioperative Nurse, you will oversee
pre-surgical and post-surgical care, ensuring that patients receive
the highest level of support and attention. Your responsibilities
will include conducting pre-op appointments, reviewing surgical
plans, coordinating aftercare services, and providing post-surgical
treatments. You will collaborate closely with our surgical team to
deliver exceptional patient care, promote patient education, and
maintain accurate medical records. This position offers a unique

care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Pre-Surgical: - Pre-Op
Appointments: Responsible for seeing patients at pre-op
appointments and completing pre-op notes including charting. -
Review surgical plan, aftercare plan, post-op skincare and
charting. - Oversee that patient has obtained necessary
prescriptions and understands directions. Send e-Rx as necessary -
Provide and review instructions for post-op skincare. - Measure and
provide post-surgical garments. - Be available to answer all
patient questions from pre to post-op handling with care. -
Obtaining all signed consents and clearances. - Create pre-op
surgical note within same day as pre-op appointment, share pre-op
note with Dr. Emer for review and signature. Intra-Surgical: -
Arrive at the operating room at the scheduled patient arrival time
to oversee proper patient preparation and surgical setup. - Assist
the Medical Director and/or surgeon during surgery as needed. -
Maintain clear communication with the patient’s family or emergency
contact, providing timely updates on the surgical process. -
Monitor and ensure that the surgery begins on schedule. - Verify
that all necessary devices and medical equipment are properly set
up, functional, and ready for use. - Confirm the availability of
all required medical supplies and aftercare equipment, including
garments, to support seamless postoperative care. Post-Surgical: -
Call patients the evening of surgery to check in and confirm Day 1
post-op appointment. - Aftercare: Responsible for all aspects of
the patient post-surgical care and follow-up. - Oversee scheduling
and managing for all aftercare therapies such as hyperbaric,
lymphatic massage, and IV treatments. - Review aftercare schedule,
anticipate issues, assign staff, direct room prep and room
turnover, oversee that needed supplies are on-hand and accessible.
- Coordinate with and work cooperatively with massage therapists. -
Oversee and direct others as needed to ensure aftercare supplies
and medical supplies are stocked appropriately (inventory of sizes
and types of garments and in room supplies for aftercare services).
- Digital aftercare logs maintained and updated daily for all
aftercare services. - Provides and facilitates patient centered
care and serves as a resource for patient and surgeon support. -
Create post-op surgical note within 24 hours of final aftercare
appointment, share post-op note with Dr. Emer for review and
signature (post-op note documents all aftercare services, suture
removal, drain removal, healing and wound observations). -
Communicate any complications or issues with pain and/or healing to
Medical Director and the plastic surgeon immediately. - Ensure all
mandatory photo protocols are being followed ensuring proper
compliance anf follow up with the Medical Director. - Scar
treatment – provide post-surgical scar treatments, including Fraxel
and scar care/skincare. - Promotes and participates in patient care
planning and education. - Serves as a resource to patients,
providers, and staff on policies and procedures, and facilitating
care. Patient Experience: - Delivers an elevated patient experience
for all patients of the practice. - Foster effective communication
and collaboration with Surgical Dept., Doctor, and other staff
members to ensure a cohesive and patient-centric approach. -
Coordinate all patient facing activities to deliver a seamless
in-office patient experience. - Participate in lives for aftercare
patients who have agreed to filming. - Build and maintain strong
relationships with patients, ensuring their needs are met and their
expectations are exceeded throughout their treatment journey. -
Oversee and direct that all aftercare patients have photos taken in
the office or selfies provided from the patient at the appropriate
(and required) intervals. Other Responsibilities: - Return phone
calls promptly and courteously, with provider guidance as needed. -
Attend physician and office staff meetings as necessary. - Comply
with all aspects of patient rights and Privacy Rule. - Oversee that
staff are adhering to HIPAA standards. - Proactively invest in
product knowledge and continued learning/development to enable
success. - Create and update medical records in the EMR as required
on the same day as client visit or surgery. - Maintain
professionalism with all patients and employees in an impactful way
to positively uphold Emer Medical’s reputation and presence. - Be
coachable, value feedback and own personal development. - Other
responsibilities as assigned. Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree -
preferred. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and
relationship-building skills. - Proficiency in CRM systems and
sales performance tracking tools. - Strong computer skills. - Team
collaboration and strong sense of professionalism in the workplace.
- Demonstrate exceptional multitasking and organizational
abilities, consistently taking initiative and performing tasks
independently without the need for direct supervision. - Strong
interpersonal skills with the capacity to build rapport with
patients. - Ability to stay focused to achieve goals with minimal
supervision. - Previous experience in a medical or aesthetic
practice is advantageous. - Exhibit exceptional attention to detail

in medical charting, ensuring complete accuracy, compliance, and
clarity in all patient records.
