Job Summary Essential Functions
- Responsible for evaluating documents to determine if the legal
description affects the subject property in addition to plotting
the legal description of property
- Asses subdivision maps, assessor parcel maps, moderately
complex metes and bounds legal descriptions
- Identify and recommend risk based title exceptions
- Work directly with Title Officers and Escrow teams; may assist
offshore team by answering questions and resolving escalated
issues
- Answers inquiries and resolves issues for customers, title and
escrow teams which may include identifying missing information,
incomplete, inaccurate or contradictory information contained in
title documentation
- Provide a wide range of support within assigned area
- Follow department's processes and procedures in daily
activities, actively identify areas of improvement and recommend
solutions
- Actively contributes to the results of a team and works toward
achieving goals and objectives
- I nteract with overseas plotted easement teams-evaluating their
plotted easement maps and answering their legal description
questions Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
- Knowledge of MS office suite
- An understanding of Net Deed Plotter in order to review legal
descriptions for closure
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of legal terms helpful
- Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and
procedures of the title process
- Have knowledge of parcel maps, tract maps, record of surveys,
lot line adjustments, certificate of compliance documents, and
boundary line adjustments
- Able to work with a variety of clients while staying within
each client's guidelines
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Interpreting conveyance and easement deeds
- Experience reading and identifying legal descriptions
(sectional and metes and bounds) for California, Washington and
Oregon propertiesTypical Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Some college preferred Typical Range of Experience
- 5+ years of directly related experience First American invests
